The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gayur Group LLC, Akbar Asadullo, participated in the Tajik–Egyptian Business Forum held within the framework of the official visit of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
On March 10, President Emomali Rahmon met with businessmen, investors, and company leaders of Egypt. At the opening of the event, speeches were delivered by the Director General of Investment and Free Zones of Egypt Muhammad Abdul Wahob, the Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Qodirzoda Sa’di, and the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mostafa Madbouly.
President Emomali Rahmon addressed the Forum of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Egypt, which was held with the participation of the Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Madbouly. The Head of State described the meeting as an important step toward the development and strengthening of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Egypt, presenting broad opportunities for cooperation and investment in Tajikistan to Egyptian business and financial circles.
The President emphasized that the Government of Tajikistan is consistently implementing measures to improve the investment climate, noting that more than 90 investment projects worth over 4 billion US dollars are currently being implemented. It was stated that Tajikistan’s legislation provides more than 240 types of guarantees and incentives for investors, including over 110 tax and customs benefits, and that membership in the World Trade Organization and international conventions reflects alignment with international standards.
It was also noted that Tajikistan has established productive cooperation with international financial institutions and maintains economic relations with 110 countries, supported by a developing multi-sector economy and favorable conditions for doing business and investment.
Priority areas for cooperation were identified as light and food industries, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, chemistry, construction materials, and pharmaceuticals, with an emphasis on modern technologies and full processing of domestic raw materials. Special attention was given to projects in hydropower, communications, transport, agriculture, and tourism infrastructure, as well as increasing the processing of cotton fiber and primary aluminum into finished products.
The President noted that Tajikistan currently has five free economic zones offering favorable conditions for foreign investors and invited Egyptian entrepreneurs to actively participate in productive activities in these regions. He highlighted Tajikistan’s hydropower potential, mineral resources, deposits of metals and precious stones, and natural and climatic advantages for agriculture.
It was stated that establishing joint ventures in pharmaceuticals, livestock breeding, beekeeping, agricultural processing and export, as well as bottling high-quality drinking water for Middle Eastern markets, could be economically viable. Tajikistan’s large reserves of drinking water and salt were also highlighted, and the Government expressed readiness to support well-founded proposals from Egyptian investors.
President Emomali Rahmon also spoke about Tajikistan’s tourism potential, particularly mountain tourism, noting the growing interest in the country’s natural landscapes. He expressed confidence that expanding cooperation would benefit both nations and invited Egyptian entrepreneurs and investors to visit Tajikistan to implement joint projects.
At the conclusion of the forum, Tajikistan’s economic potential was presented in detail, followed by constructive discussions between the Tajik official delegation and representatives of the Egyptian business community. As a result of the work of the Tajik–Egyptian Business Council, 11 cooperation agreements were signed.
